I decided to run Windows Defender, since I recently was the lucky recipient of a rootkit. Needless to say, Defender found nothing. It seems Microsoft has made a special effort to ensure that the users of Vista aren't plagued with the problems of having actual control or knowledge over what goes on inside their computer.
