Take that Whitestrips!
Friday, 10 November 2006

I, as many people have, tried Crest’s Whitestrips. They do work, but it takes forever to see any results, and the end result usually ends up being less than desired. On top of that, Whitestrips do not work with all facets of the teeth, and don’t whiten the molars either, since their size does not stretch that far. And, the main problem is that they are so EXPENSIVE!

I have found the alternative. It is called “Pluswhite 5-minute Speed Whitening Gel.” It has the same ingredients as Whitestrips, only it doesn’t use strips at all. Best of all, this solution costs only $6 to $15, depending on which version you choose. I opted for the cheap, tube-only version. The more expensive version’s only difference is that it has a brush to paint the goop on, and two foam trays to squirt it into, and then you place those trays on your teeth. The poor man’s version requires a q-tip to apply.

You just lick the front teeth off, and, leaving the teeth slightly damp, just spread it on. Cover all areas of the teeth that you wish to be whitened. For really yellow teeth, the instructions suggest 10 minutes, rather than 5. I noticed a difference after the first 5 minute bleaching. A yellow spot I had been fighting with was nearly vaporized after this. I did this every other day for a week, and now do it as needed. I have noticed no sensitivity issues or anything. This stuff is great! Go get some and try it!

You can find this stuff at Wal-Mart, and probably most other stores that sell this type of stuff too.
