Digg Defaults Logged to Tech
Thursday, 14 December 2006
So, why does Digg start users not logged in on the “All Stories” view? Following logon, you are only in the “Technology” view. Why is this? I have a theory:

    A. There is a political agenda/undercurrent within the high-ups on Digg, as well as the top Diggers. Many of them, NOT ALL, lean towards Liberalism and Godlessness. Thus, they purposely show the “All Stories” view to users who aren’t logged (and don’t have an account…many are internet novices), in the hope that they will sign up, appalled, or in agreement with a politically fueled story. It doesn’t matter if they figure out how to see “All Stories” after login. While the staff would prefer as few as possible people saw the politically motivated stories, it doesn’t matter as long as they generate more users, thus more traffic, thus more revenue. They start the new and old users alike out on the “Technology” section because they are mostly paid by technology companies. (Apple? Publicity firms who “cheat” Digg?) What good are the other sections, if you can’t make as much, or any money off of it.

I know you may argue "its just because it is supposed to be a mainly tech site." Ok, so if Digg was really mostly tech oriented, (at least that's its roots), why does it show "All Stories" to unlogged users? That makes it appear to be more than a technology site...You decide.

Oh well. That’s just my two cents. Go ahead and flame me, I don’t care. I have come to grips with the fact that people who live on the internet, as most of you do, fail to see the real world, and when you get a good glimpse, you see it in the wrong light. Good luck on your quest for knowledge, and truth. I pray you find the Lord Jesus, and are successful in life.
